Obituary

James Wilbur Harrison Jr., blessed this earth on March 19, 1963, in Cincinnati, Ohio through the union of James Wilbur Harrison Sr., and Betty Jean Harrison. James was the second of three children, Deginea, James, and Kino Harrison.

James was preceded in death by mother Betty J. Harrison-Dawson, and step-father Steve Dawson Jr., and Morris E. Jones brother in law.

James attended South Avondale Elementary. James graduated from Woodward High School. While there he played the trumpet in the school marching band. He then went to work for Local 12 T.V. News Station as a Photo Journalists. He was there for 45 years. And an active employee until his passing. James AKA Junior the name his family and friends called him. He always wanted to be the best and greatest at what he did.

He saw a great deal of the world and was able to get along with everyone he met. He had a sense of humor and enjoyed making Jokes. He was always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved grilling out by the pool entertaining everyone while listening to his favorite songs. “ And you better not touch a black man’s Radio” Laugh. His love and memory will forever live in our hearts.

James leaves to cherish his memories through his son Jason A. Harrison, granddaughters Jurnee, Madisyn, and Kinsley Harrison; sister Deginea Jones; brother Kino Harrison Sr., (Felicia) and host of nieces, nephews.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Crossroads Community Church, 3500 Madison Road, Cincinnati (45209). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 12:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
