Dr. James Malachi Whittico Jr., M.D., DSN 6372, was a Police Surgeon/Physician for the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department and started his career on 01/01/1967. Dr. Whittico retired from the SLMPD Medical Division on 11/01/1991 having served 24.83 years of faithful and dedicated service to the department. It should be noted that Dr. Whittico was a 2nd generation Physician and followed in the footsteps of his father Dr. James M. Whittico Sr. Dr. Whittico was a veteran of World War II and served as an Officer achieving the rank of Major in the Medical Corps. Dr. Whittico served from 05/01/1942 to 05/01/1946. Dr. James Malachi M. Whittico, Jr., M.D. transitioned Tuesday, August 21, 2018. The Celebration of Life for Dr. James M. Whittico, Jr., M.D. will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Central Baptist Church, 2842 Washington Boulevard, St. Louis, Missouri. Public Viewing for Dr. Whittico M.D. will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 3:00 PM-8:00 PM in the Layne Chapel, 7302 West Florissant, St. Louis, Missouri with Family Hour from 5:00 PM-6:00 PM. The Omega Service of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 in the Layne Chapel at 6:00 PM followed by Masonic Rites for Dr. James M. Whittico, Jr., M.D. at 6:30 PM. The Interment and Committal Ceremony will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
