James Berry Silver Jr. May 15, 1954 - July 31, 2023
James Berry Silver, Jr., son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend was born on May 15, 1954, in Louisville, Kentucky to the union of James B. Silver, Sr. and Helen Hudson Silver. James accepted Christ at an early age. He joined Greater Friendship Baptist Church, Pastor Derrick Miles, on Osage Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky on February 11, 2007.
Daddy, Grandaddy, "J.B.", "Bruh Bruh", Uncle James, "Songbird" and James Jr. are some of the names he was affectionally called by his multitude of family and friends. James had a tremendous sense of humor and a contagious laugh that spread to everyone. James grew up in a household with nine sisters and one bathroom.
James graduated from Central High School in 1972. He attended Jefferson Community College and obtained an electrical degree. James worked at General Electric Company for over sixteen years while living in Louisville. Some of James' passions included electrical work, traveling, and photography. James loved to read adventure stories and watch movies/TV, his favorite shows being "Martin" and "Richard Pryor". His favorite pastime was listening to music. He remembered most of the lyrics. James was the life of social events and parties. His favorite foods included all Italian food, Subway sandwiches, Little Debbie Snack Cakes, and ice-cold Coca-Cola.
James' health declined over the past years. On July 31, 2023, God called him home to an eternity of unconditional love, peace, and joy. He joins his parents; sisters: Darlene Silver Hancock Perry, Faye Silver, and Gale Silver Webber; also, son Montez Brandon who predeceased him. His life was filled with love and laughter.
James leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Moneeca Phillips; sons, Anthony (Tina) Silver, Andre' (Kavette) Huddleston, and James Berry Lewis; siblings, Arlene Silver (Lafayette III) Cowden, Barbara Silver Pride, Chestealia Silver (Michael) Quinn, Edith Silver (Barry) Simms, Elise Silver, Irma Silver Clark, Larry (Bobbie) Moseley; adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
