James Ridley, affectionately known as "Scooter," was born to Rosetta and James Ridley on August 22, 1953. He passed away on October 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy marked by his vibrant personality and dedication to family. James attended Taft High School and later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, demonstrating his commitment and sense of duty from a young age.

Throughout his life, James was known for his lively spirit and diverse interests. He enjoyed dancing, writing, reading, and following football, pursuits that reflected his energetic and engaging personality. As a family man, he was recognized for his strong character, humor, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his children and loved ones.

James was preceded in death by a brother, Jerome Ridley.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Ann Ridley; his children: Kianti Ridley, Brandy Ridley, Mary Coleman, Lavar Ridley, Tyrell Ridley, James Ridley, and LaDon Ridley; his in-law children: Terri Grevious, Dion Curtis, and Prece Curtis. He also leaves his sisters, Patricia Ridley and Linda Steele, and his brothers, Larry Ridley, Grover Ridley, Earl Ridley, John Ridley, and Tony Ridley. James's legacy also endures through his grandchildren, as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends who cherish his memory.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm, on  Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation,  beginning at 5:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.

He will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428.
