IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Moreland
Jr.
November 20, 1940 – May 15, 2015
James Moreland Jr Sunrise: November 20, 1940Sunset: May 15, 2015 James Moreland died on May 15, 2015, but more importantly, he lived for 74 incredible years. He was a devoted husband, an avid traveler, a social butterfly, a father, grandfather, great grandfather and a loyal friend. He was a loving caring and sharing man, always willing to give a helping hand. He died bravely and peacefully after fighting a good fight and a life well lived. We'll miss you like crazy. Bucky, as he was affectionately known, was the first born to James and Bernice Moreland on 11-20-40. Both parents preceded him in death as well as his younger brother Raymond Reese, and stepfather Jimmy Woods. Bucky accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized and united with First Baptist Church of College Hill under the pastorate of Rev. Edward Jones Sr. James changed his membership to New St. Paul under the pastorate of Pastor Donald Fairbanks, were he became a Deacon and a faithful member of the Sheppard's Helpers, Trustee and Missionary boards. Bucky attended Steele Grade Elementary School, Porter Junior High, Central High and North College Hill High School. He was employed and retired from local 265. After retirement he began working with his good friend Tony Moore at Shrimpy's and Avondale Food Mart. He was united in marriage to Marjean Reese Moreland. He leaves to cherish his life, his wife Marjean Moreland, his children, Sylvia Carole (Previn), Lorenzo (Kimberly), Brian Keith, LaCretia Sherie, Jamie Nicole, Jeremy Lamont, 15 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren, Diana Strickland, who was like a sister to him growing up, 2 aunts Betty Rivers and Rosetta Bess, dear friend Tony Moore and a host of nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends. He certainly will be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at the day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
