James Otis McNeal James Otis McNeal was born February 13, 1951 in Troy, Alabama. He was the second oldest child born to the union of the late James Clifford and Dorothy Mae McNeal. He slept away quietly, departing this life on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Otis attended the Cincinnati Public Schools, graduating from Hughes High School in 1970. He then joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1973. He was also a City of Cincinnati Sanitation Department retiree. Otis enjoyed being a 'cool' big brother and uncle, and was known for keeping toothpicks in his mouth. He also enjoyed taking daily walks through the Mt. Auburn neighborhood...(He can now walk around Heaven). Otis was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Lawrence McNeal, and three nephews, Kendall McNeal, Jeremy Long, and Rashaad Washington. He leaves not to mourn but to celebrate his life and memory: three sisters, diane Mingo, Patricia Davis, and Sandra Layne, all of cincinnati, Ohio; five brothers, Freeman (Alice) McNeal, Robert McNeal, Kenny McNeal, Clifford McNeal, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; Clifford Banks and one adopted brother, Tyrone DuBois, both of Los Angeles, California; his longtime friend, Martha 'Marti: Rice, three Godchildren, Dante Rice, Justin Robinson, Jayla Robinson, and one adopted granddaughter, Arianna Bomar; and nine nieces, 12 nephews, 13 great-nieces, 11 great-nephews, several aunts, uncles, cousins and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, June 20, 2014 at James Temple Church of God In Christ, 1116 Lincoln Avenue, Cincinnati (45206) with visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
