James Ruth Marshall, affectionately known as "Ruth" was born on July 8, 1926, to the union of her parents, the late John W. and Laura B. Busch. She was the third of six children. Ruth was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and raised in the West End. Ruth was a graduate of Woodward High School and the Cincinnati School of Practical Nursing. On May 18, 1946, she married the late Calvin C. Marshall and from that union they were blessed with seven children. She departed this life on March 20, 2018, at the age of 91, before going onto eternal life. Ruth was a dedicated and committed nurse employed at the Christ and Bethesda Hospitals until her retirement. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age and united with the Baptist Church of Rev. Dr. H. L. Harvey until her disability prevented her attendance. Anyone that knew Ruth also knew that the most precious gifts in her life were her children and grandchildren. Her favorite past times were spent cooking for her family, reading, working word and jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed visiting with her friends. Precious memories of Ruth will forever remain in the hearts of the lives she touched. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Calvin Marshall, Jr. and Jerry Lee Marshall. She leaves to her memory, one daughter, Carolyn Richardson, and one son, Horace Marshall (Debra) and step children, Johnnie Mae Dukes, Jeanette Ruben, and James Marshall (Patti); 13 grandchildren, Kevin, Matt Jr., Marlon, Tracy, James (Luke), Tanika, Terrance, Tamika, Lil James, Calviin Jr. (Brad), Telisha, Johnette, and LaToya; 23 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
