IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Clarence
Lamont Adkins
January 12, 1963 – April 14, 2016
James Clarence Lamont Adkins was born on January 12, 1962, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Adell Means Adkins (who preceded him in death) and Mr. James Herman Adkins (who preceded him in death). James accepted Jesus Christ as a child and was called home by the Lord on Monday, April 11, 2016. He was Baptized by Rev. Clarence Adkins, his grandfather, and pastor for some of his childhood, at the Golden Leaf Baptist Church, located in Evanston. When James was eleven his family joined the membership of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church where he grew in the word. While in high school James played baseball and football and acquired the nickname of "Jumbo". James was blessed with hands that could fix almost anything. James attended a trade school and perfected his skills. He also had a gift of bringing laughter into any situation. He went overboard to make you laugh. James leaves behind a sister Leslie Rennay Adkins-Moye' of Atlanta, GA (Steven of Cincinnati) and two brothers Darren Rayshawn Adkins of Atlanta, GA and William Lawrence Adkins (Chandra) of Woodstock, GA, son, Christopher James Adkins and grandson, Carter Denzel Adkins of Myrtle Beach, SC. He was blessed to have four nieces Whitney Rennay Moye' of Atlanta, GA, Brittney Rene' Adkins of New Orleans, LA, Jasmine Dennard (Walter) of Atlanta, GA, Lauren Catherine Adell Adkins of New Orleans, LA and two nephews Christopher Miles Moye' of Atlanta and William Lawrence Adkins, Jr. of Woodstock, GA. He also had three great-nieces and one great-nephew Other relatives he leaves behind are a Step-aunt, Patricia Ann Means-Moody (Minister Walter Moody), an uncle Joseph Adkins of Cincinnati, OH (Wife's Name). and a host of cousins and other family and special friends. James will always be remembered for being a gentle spirit and his ability to make you laugh. To everyone, thank you for all that you have done. Although we are saddened by his departure, we are certain that he is now with his mother that he longed to see again and we are certain that those with whom he will be reuniting with will celebrate his arrival and welcome him with open arms. James 1:12 God will bless you if you don't give up when your faith is being tested. He will reward you with a glorious life, just as he rewards everyone who loves him. Visitation is from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm, on Friday, April 22, 2016, at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 26 W North Bend Road, Cincinnati (45216).
