James Edward Lovett, affectionately known as Jamie, was born on the 7th day of April to Mattie Elizabeth Lovett and Charles Gilstrap. He was preceded in death by both parents, his sisters Darlene, Willa Mae and Terri Lynn, and brother Curtis.

Born at 838 Lincoln St., he had a great love for his neighbourhood and all those he met along the way. He was never too good to walk by and not speak; not too broke to give his last; nor too tired to lend a hand. As good and pure a soul as you'll ever meet. I know he'll be missed by those he touched... by family and by the neighbourhood. He forever called home...WALNUT HILLS FOREVER!

James "Jamie" Lovett leaves behind lots of family and friends, including a son, Isiah; brothers Ronald (Valerie), Rickie (Elaine), and Charles; and sisters Ruth (James), Carol, Carla (Buster); and a whole host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on  Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
