James Choate Jr. (Jimmy) was born on May 24, 1940, to Dorothy and James Choate Sr. He lived a full 85 years with grace, humor, and an unstoppable spirit. He was a man of quiet strength, unshakable integrity, and boundless love for all of his family.

In his free time, he enjoyed painting statues and canvases, telling jokes, and working in his yard.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James Choate Sr. and Dorothy Benton; his sister, Betty McCants; his brother, Robert Choate; his son, Ronnie Duskin; and his wife, Charlotte Martin.

James Choate Jr. leaves behind a daughter and son; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five sisters; two brothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 12:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.

He will be laid to rest at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
