James E. Brewton, age 72, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born Thursday, August 14, 1941 in Asheville, North Carolina. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Walker - Walnut Hills Chapel , 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati (45206) with visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Share special messages with the Brewton family at www.HerbWalker.com. James Enoch Brewton was born on August 4, 1941. He was the oldest child of the late Enoch Suter and Annie M. Brewton. He accepted Christ early in life and was baptized at Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Church. James was a graduate of Stephen Lee High School in Ashville, North Carolina. He later received an Associate Degree in Computer Technology. James worked for the City of Cincinnati Park Board and the Metropolitan Sewer District. He later went on to work for the IRS and retired in 2010 after over 20 years of service. James was affectionately known by his family and friends as Copper. He was also known for waking up up happy and singing. As the oldest child, he was the family historian, sharing funny childhood stories about how they grew up and the 'real' stories of other family members. These stories made family gatherings entertaining and memorable. He was loyal to his family and friends, and would always do his best to help those in need. On March 11, 2014, the Lord called him home. He leaves to cherish his memory: an ex-wife and best friend, Joe Cynthia Brewton; one sister, Jacqueline Bell; three brothers, Wesley, Larry (Ann) and Freddie; two nephews, Enoch L. Fitzhugh (Donna), and Lawrence A. Brewton; three great-nephews; two great-nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends
