Jack Oliver Jr. was born to the union of Jack Oliver and Vieree Oliver on November 28, 1952 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized . Jack's formal education was in the Cincinnati Public Schools where he was a stand out on the football field and graduated from Hughes High School. Jack served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Jack married Milan Leahr in 1983 to which union two children were born. Jack worked for many years for General Motors Company at Fisher Body in Hamilton Ohio from whence he subsequently retired. Jack a.ka. "Black Jack" was affectionately regarded as "The Social Director" because he never met a stranger and loved to mingle with people from all walks of life. Jack was charismatic, outgoing and got along well with everyone, Jack's persona was larger than life and he left an indelible impression on everyone he met. Jack was a prolific story teller, very animated and energetic and his wry sense of humor made people laugh in the most challenging situations. Jack was an excellent dancer, loved a good party, had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest. Jack's gift was his forward fashion sense, he was always impeccably dressed and masterfully coordinated complex fashion combinations and wore them effortlessly. Jack always received accolades for his appearance and the most frequent and memorable comment about him was "He was dressed to the nines". He was preceded in death by his father—Jack Oliver, and many other relatives. He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved mother Vieree Oliver, daughters Portia (Quentin) Gordon Brown and Ashley (Mikhail) Oliver Hicks, sons Leblond Oliver and Jack Oliver III. grandchildren— Lamisha Oliver, Jamaya Oliver, Jack Oliver IV, Jordin Hicks, Quentin Brown Jr., Jaila Hicks, significant other Tina Davis and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 20 at WALKER FUNERAL HOME, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati (45206) with services at 11:00 a.m. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
