Isa Denine Turner (Henderson) departed this life on November 2, 2015 at the age of 43. She was born on June 30, 1972 to Willie and Vertia Bell Henderson (Morrow) in Erie, Pa. Isa attended Technical Memorial High School (Erie, PA) as an aspiring engineer but went on to receive a B.A. in Music Education from Westminster College. Isa cultivated her love for singing as a child in the church Sunshine Band and later in the United Voices Choir in Erie, Pa. Along with the musical talents of her niece Mira, the singing group "Destiny" was born. Her life-long work was as a singer and choir director, which she considered her ministry. She was an active member of the world renowned Muse, a female choir in Cincinnati. Isa worked as a Senior Support Specialist at several schools and most recently at the School of Creative and Performing Arts (SPCA) in Cincinnati, Ohio where she was a "leader sister" in the Sisters of SPCA Mentoring Program. Her hobbies included: composing and singing, line dancing, mentoring and empowering women, "cracking jokes," and hanging out with her family and friends. One of her favorite sayings was, "Turned down for what!" She leaves to cherish precious memories a beloved son: Ronald Turner of Cincinnati, Ohio and precious daughter, Destiny Turner of Cincinnati, Ohio; six sisters: Theresa Smith of Upper Marlboro, MD; Patricia Tate (Howard) of Upper Marlboro, MD; Barbara Wilkerson (Earnest) of Charlotte, NC; Darlene Davis (Fred III) of Pittsburgh, PA; Cheryl Felton (Stephen) of Cincinnati, Ohio; Anna Hughes of Woodbridge, VA . She is beloved by nineteen nieces and nephews: Mira, Dominique, Bernadette (Tres), Kimberly, Fred IV (Rebecca), Hamilton(LaToya), Mya, Valeni (Chana), Ariane (Lorenza), Lisette, Chandler, Jonathan, David, Joe, Christian, Carroll, Blake, and Bryce. She leaves nine great nieces and nephews: Madison, Jordyn, Alyssa, Andrew, Fred V, Brayden, Richard, Jacqueline, Ava and Allison. She leaves one uncle, Hosea Morrow (Rosie) of Erie, PA and is preceded in death by her beloved mother Vertia Bell Morrow, and two siblings, Lydia Henderson (2011) and Willie Henderson, husband of Carolyn (2013). She also leaves behind several family, and friends who loved her dearly. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at James Temple Church of God in Christ (COGIC), 1116 Lincoln Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206 (513) 221-3277. Visitation is from 9:00 am until 10:00 am. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 10:00 am.
