Irene Hunter, age 85, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born October 9, 1930, in Evergreen, Alabama, to the late Henry Ammons and Amelia (Nared) Ammons. She graduated from Conecuh County Training School and Alhouse Cosmetology School in Omaha, Nebraska. She joined the Sandy Grove Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, O'Neil Likely (Carmen), James Hunter II, Theresa McCall (Sean), grandchildren: Laron L. Wilson (Tiffany) Brittney Monei Hunter Jamilia K. Hunter Justice N. McCall, Jaylen O'Neill McCall, Khallid Wilson. Mia Hunter, James Hunter III, Jared C. McCall, Julian H. Hunter, Alonna Johnson, Jamie K. Johnson, great-grandchildren: Amirrah Wilson, Naimah Wilson, Jalauni K. Hunter, Ramoj I. Hiensmon; sister: Minnie Yvonne Ammons (Florida), sisters-in-law, Daisy Ammons (Florida) Ollie Ammons (Alabama), Willie Ammons (Nebraska), Cora Lee Ammons (Arkansas), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. She was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters. Visitation is from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the New Life Baptist Church, 6434 Simpson Avenue, Cincinnati (45224). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
