He served very proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was an employee of the City of Cincinnati. He loved life, enjoying it to the fullest. Born June 20, 1955 in Albany, Georgia to Arthur Belle (nee Roddy) Whitfield and the late Lamont Whitfield. Kirk was preceded in death by step-mother, Viola (nee Dixon); nephew, David Rawls Jr; brother-in-law, Bruce Jones; many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Survived by his children, Alonzo Johnson of Montgomery, Alabama, LaWayne Whitfield of Cincinnati, Ira Kirk Collins (Maggie Willis ) of Cincinnati, Olyvia and Evan Allen of Independence, Kentucky; longtime sobriety partner, Michelle DeTemple; grand-children, Natia Whitfield, Leonna Whitfield, and Arrion Johnson; Mother, Arthur Bell of Albany, Georgia; Brothers and Sisters, Mamie (David) Rawls of St. Paul, North Carolina, LaWayne (Linda) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Zoe Jones of College Park, Georgia; Johnny of Albany, Georgia; Sabrina of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; Patsy of Riverdale, Georgia; Stephen of French Lick, Indiana; Nieces and Nephews: Deitra Rawls of St. Paul, North Carolina, Donnelle Rawls of Raleigh, North Carolina, Demetras Rawls of Garner, North Carolina, LaWayne Whitfield of Ft.
