He served very proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was an employee of the City of Cincinnati. He loved life, enjoying it to the fullest. Born June 20, 1955 in Albany, Georgia to Arthur Belle (nee Roddy) Whitfield and the late Lamont Whitfield. Kirk was preceded in death by step-mother, Viola (nee Dixon); nephew, David Rawls Jr; brother-in-law, Bruce Jones; many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
