When you remember me, know that God was the best thing in my life. Ida Marie Jeter (nee Elliott) was born the fourth child to Paul Lee and Sarah Bell Elliott on March 25, 1936, in McDonough, Georgia. After graduation from high school, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, with her oldest sister, the late Mildred Durand. She soon started her career as a seamstress at Fechheimer Brothers, where she retired after 40 years. She loved sewing, especially making clothes for her family and friends. Sewing was her passion. Ida accepted Christ at a young age. She became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Georgia, then Bethlehem Baptist Church here in Cincinnati. At Bethlehem, she served on the Usher Board until her passing. she loved this church and its members, always saying this is where God wanted her to serve. Ida married Monroe Jeter on July 17, 1971, when she gained another daughter, Gloria Willis. Together they were, until his passing in 2014. She leaves to remember: two daughters, Gloria Willis (Benny) and Nahketha Brooks (Anthony); one son, Harold Elliott (Denise); four grandchildren, Liscia Willis, Deon Willis (Tamika), Dante' Elliott (Morgan), Tanisa Brooks; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, 760 North Fred Shuttlesworth Circle, Cincinnati (45229). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
