Hester Harris was born on April 5, 1933, in Little Rock Arkansas to the late Albert and Ethel Harris. Hester was the 1st child of Albert & Ethel Harris. She was one of 13 children, 12 of which preceded her in death.
She moved to Cincinnati at an early age where she attended school. Hester worked as a home aide and cook at Miami University. We will forever remember her homemade dinner rolls. Hester had many interests, listening to music, gospel especially. She enjoyed bowling, card playing, reading the Bible, attending worship services with her brothers and sisters in Christ, and having her grandchildren around as well as the neighborhood children.
She became a member of the Lord's Church in 1978, under the leadership of Bro. Lee Townes, where she worked faithfully until she became ill. She resided at The Home at Hearthstone for more than 8 years. She was the president of the resident council, a spokesperson for the residents until her final days.
She was preceded in death by her two children, Kimberly Williams and Ray Harris (Stephanie).
Hester was blessed with eight children, four boys, and four girls which she enjoyed and loved dearly. She leaves to cherish her memory to Carol Johnson, Michelle Harris, Victor Harris (Nancy), William Harris, Linwood Harris, and Theresa Hall; Hester's 14 grandchildren, Terrence, Erica, Linwood, Anthony, Tim, Tiesha, Vicky, Alyssa, Daris, Brenna, Dominique, Ukima, Ashley, and Kariyah; twelve great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends. She will surely be missed by all.
