IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Herman Ray
Wilson
April 27, 1920 – July 14, 2014
Herman Ray Wilson was born on April 27, 1920 in Sheffield, Albama to the late Charlie Wilson and Catherine Wilson Whitehead. He departed this life July 17, 2014 at 7:35 p.m. Herman dedicated over thirty years of his life to the United States Army. He traveled all over the world. Upon leaving the military with an Honorable Discharge, Herman decided to make Cincinnati, Ohio is home. He married Rev. Catherine Jones April 12, 1970, who preceded him in death on November 5, 2005. Herman loved to fish, and he also loved to share his great history of his many travels and the many friends he encountered throughout the world. An avid Star Wars Fan, he loved all of his war movies. He loved reading the bible and watching the biblical series as it came on television. He loved putting puzzles together and reading and oh yes playing cards. While he attended Adult Day Care, Daddy considered himself the doorkeeper. He greeted all the visitors and helped himself to the cookies and candy dishes. We couldn't wait for him to come home because he always had goodies in his pockets that he shared. He leaves behind three loving children, Marlena Brown, Anthony E. Rice, and Catherine A Wathel (Barry). 14 Grandchildren: Maria Brown, Michelle Renee Ford, Denise Cupp, Shawn Brown, Howard Brown, Henry Brown, Jr. Carmen Brown, Aaron Brown, Mary Elizabeth McKenzie (Todd), Catherine M. Scott, Mary Catherine Elia Wathel, Kaylyn Jabree Todd, Tara Merritt, Barry Wayne Wathel, Jr.; 26 Great Grand Children and 25 Great Great Grand Children and a host of other relatives and great caring friends. Rest safely in his care. There are many things in life that we cannot understand, but we must trust God's judgement. And are guided by his hand and all who have God's blessing can rest safely in his care, for he promises safe passage on the wings of faith and prayer.
