Obituary

Herman Edwards August 10, 1927 - April 19, 2015 Life's Reflection Mr. Herman Edwards was born August 10, 1927 in Jefferson, Texas to the union of Fletcher and Birdie Mae (Terry) Edwards. Herman confessed to Christ at an early age and loved to tell how he was baptized in a creek. January of 2014, Herman became a member of The First Baptist Church of Hazelwood. Herman was an only child and loved his cousins, the Crawford family, and always thought of them as his siblings. Herman received a degree in Bookkeeping and Business from Peoples Business College, Austin, Texas and attended Phillips Vocational Training Training School and received a certificate in auto mechanics. Later on Herman relocated to Los Angeles, California and worked for National Lead and later retired from McDonald Douglas Aircraft. Herman became interested in bowling after hurting his leg sliding into first base, playing baseball. Herman loved everything that involved bowling especially getting individuals signed up for tournaments. Herman was a proud member of the Manchester Western Bowling Club where he served as the Tournament Director, The Los Angeles Senate of the TNBA, Coordinator of the Los Angeles Junior Bowling Program and a long standing member of The National Bowling Association. Herman was affectionately known as HE to this bowling family. In 1996, Herman was blessed to marry the love of his life, Laura and left Los Angeles to move to Cincinnati, Ohio to be with her. Immediately, he joined a bowling league, became active in the Queen City Bowing Senate and helping with the junior bowlers. Soon afterwards, Herman took the position of Coordinator, of the Cincinnati Junior Bowling Program until his passing. Herman loved and lived bowling. His wife often told him and others that she knew, 'bowling came first and she came second and that was okay'. Herman was very proud to have bowled a 300 game and a 700 series. Herman was a kind and caring soul who loved to go to Brentwood Bowl to help with anything he could, including helping behind the counter, passing out league and score sheets or picking up lunch. Herman introduced the 'Mystery Pot' game to bowlers in the Shakers League and the game soon caught on in other leagues. Herman loved to dance and loved listening to the Blues. He will truly be missed, but not forgotten. Herman leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Laura: two children from previous marriages; son, Lloyd Edwards of Houston, TX; daughter, Kisha Edwards Chubbs (Antonio) of Los, Angles, CA; four stepchildren, Lynn White, Steven White (Yana), Adoff White III (Bridgette), Joseph White (Brittany); eight step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends who dearly loved Herman.
