Obituary

Henry Alvin Vaulx succumbed to a long illness, ending his earthly journey on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Daniel Drake Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was 68 years old. Henry was born October 4, 1945 in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Mary Rawlings and Alvin Vaulx. Henry grew up in the West End in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended St. Joseph Elementary School and Central High School, learning a trade in professional tailoring. Shortly after high school, Henry married Winona Willis, December 24, 1966. To that union, three children were born; twins, Tracy and Todd, and daughter, Threse. The young couple did not have long to spend together; Henry was drafted into the U.S. Army, and subsequently sent to active duty in Vietnam. After his military service he returned to civilian life and worked in his trade as a professional tailor for many years. He also for worked for Penn Station Railroad Company for several years. In addition to Tracy, Todd, and Threse, Henry has four daughters; Tara, Gloria Jean, Sarafina, and Summya. Henry is survived by his wife, Winona; two sons, Tracy and Todd Vaulx; five daughters, Tara Williams, Gloria Jean Gardner, Threse Vaulx, Sarafina Sweatt, and Summya Sweatt all of Cincinnati. He has five sisters, Eleanor Moore (preceded him in death), Jean Ferrell, Alice Vaulx, Egloria Robinson, and Grace Vickers all of Cincinnati; two brothers, James Rawlings (preceded him in death) and Nathaniel Vaulx of Jackson, Florida; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
