Henry Ronald Riggins was born on August 26, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the parentage of the late Opal A. Riggins. Ron was raised by his mother, Opal and stepfather, Samuel D. Riggins (deceased). Ron departed this life on May 9, 2015 at home. He was a very active and caring person, as a child, he attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church and School. Ron was also educated in the Cincinnati Public Schools system. He graduated from Central High School (Old Courter Tech High School). Ron worked at Emery Chemical Industries (BASF) over 30 years. During this time he acquired his undergraduate degrees from the University of Cincinnati, Miami University of Oxford, Ohio and a Masters Degree from Xavier University. Ron was also a Pioneer in the Satellite, Cable, and Cellular Telephone Industry. He began his own company (Progressive Communications, Inc.) in the 70's. Now to some people, they may say he was a bit of a talker. But what it turned out to be, he was a wealth of knowledge and believed in sharing his ideas and thoughts as a teacher, Communications Professional or just in general conversation. Any subject that was chosen, he would leave you wanting more. Ron was joined in Holy Matrimony to Darlene Cowins on March 30, 1984. Ron was the father of one daughter, Robin Renee Riggins (deceased). Ron had quite a few passions, just to name a few, a wonderful husband/family man, an avid reader, traveling, eating and enjoying sports. Ron gave his life to Christ and was baptized before departing this life. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Darlene (Cowins) Riggins his sister, Janice Armstrong, sisters-in-law, Helen Robinson, Elizabeth (Donald) Swain; brothers-in-law, Lindsay (Ida) Cowins of Madison, AK, Willie (Darlene) Cowins, William H. Cowins, John (Tracey) Cowins and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the Walker- Walnut Hills Chapel, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Interment is in Spring Grove Cemetery at Cincinnati, Ohio.
