Bennett
December 8, 1935 – November 12, 2020
Helen Sabre King Bennett was granted her wings on November 12, 2020. Helen confessed and accepted Christ at an early age. She was a devout Catholic who attended Saint Martin DePorres School and Our Lady of Angels High School in Cincinnati, graduating in 1954.
She went on the become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Working at Christ Hospital was one of Helen's greatest achievements as she took great pride in caring for the sick at what she deemed Cincinnati's "Greatest Hospital".
Helen was an avid baseball fan and absolutely adored the Cincinnati Reds. She would watch them any chance she got--whether on television or in person.
Helen truly had a love for life. She loved her family, friends and even strangers. She loved to dance and loved music and as we all know, she loved some Al Green!
Helen joined Lucuis Bennett Jr. in holy matrimony on August 29, 1964, and they remained married until he went home to be with the Lord in 1990.
She was a devoted mother to Sheila Heard, Vincent (Angela), and Sean (Michelle) Bennett. Helen was also Momma Len to Lucius III (Sharon), Andre (Carla), and Tyra Bennett. She was a loving grandmother to Lindsey Jr., Brandon, Ebonie, Felice, Ivoree (Joseph), Brittany, Ashley, Clifford Jr. (Bri'Ana), Shelly, Coree, and Deja. Helen also leaves to mourn in her memory: 17 great-grandchildren; her sister Joy (Trece)Middleton and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Millie King; three sisters: Dorothy Bailey, Mildred Cavalier, and Juanita Brown; and one brother, Alphonso (Boogie) King.
Visitation is from 9:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the Church Of The Resurrection, 1619 California Avenue, Cincinnati (45237). The Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Everyone attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
In keeping with the Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions masks are required in order to enter the service and social distancing must be practiced. Please be prepared to comply for the safety of all.
