Hazel C. Ophelia Tidwell 'Autn Haggie' Age 84 Cincinnati, Ohio Born Cincinnati, Ohio 6/17/1924 Hazel was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Sarah and Henry Woods on June 17, 1924. She attended public schools in her youth. She gave birth to her only child, David 'Deno'Woods in 1940. Hazel married Roy Tidwell. Hazel's son, David Tidwell enlisted in several branches of the U. S. Military before the age of 25; married and had one child. Tragically, Deno, his wife Beverly, and only son were killed in an auto accident in the spring of 1962. The tragic death of her son compounded the strain in her marriage which later ended in divorce. Although Hazel faced tremendous loss at an early age, she kept a beautiful smile and wicked tongue that would make any man blush. Hazel loved to laugh, play cards with her sister, Clemartee Hector, and drink Pepsi Cola from a glass bottle. She enjoyed her family and spent countless hours filling in as a surrogate parent for her sister's children while she and her brother in law worked. 'Aunt Haggie' left this life on Friday, November 28, 2008 after dealing with a long term illness. She leaves to cherish her memory her nephews Ronald Greene of Indianapolis, Indiana, Stanley Greene of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, two nieces Patricia Duffy and Ruth young-Rocker of Cincinnati, Ohio. She leaves second and third generation nieces and nephews to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her son, David, Sister, Clemartee Elizabeth and nephews, Steven and Warren Greene.
