Hattie Lue Ruffin's Obituary

Hattie Lue Shelton was born in Elmore, Alabama, on March 11, 1939, to the late Edward Benjamin Shelton and Elvie Lee Franklin- Shelton. Hattie was the youngest of the children born to the union. Hattie was proceeded in death by her loving parents, Elvie and Edward Shelton, her siblings, Mildred Whitley, John Whitley, Eddie Mae, Carrie B. Rice, Alex RC Shelton, Eddie Shelton, and William Henery Shelton. Hattie Lue Ruffin graduated from Hopper City high school in 1957. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Isdale Ruffin. To this union was born Luedell Ruffin in 1957. Hattie moved to Cincinnati from Birmingham, Alabama. She soon settled in Covington, Kentucky. She touched many lives by often serving as a support system for her family and friends. She worked full time and was a member of Deliverance Temple, and then proceeded to become a full member at Fellowship Temple. Hattie would often visit local nursing homes and would help to cook, clean, run errands, and tend to the personal needs of many people in need of assistance. When asked why she helped so many people she would reply 'I do what my hands tell me to do.' Hattie Ruffin was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, and Friend to many people. She was truly loved by all, and will be greatly missed. Her memory will live on with her daughter, Luedell Ruffin, granddaughters, Andrea Ruffin and Delshay Ruffin, great-grandchildren, Kiairra KC Washington, Jeremy Pressley Jr, Jermani Pressley, D'Andre Lee, Jeriya Jamison, and Marious Jamison, brother-in-law, William Ruffin, sister-in-law, Sara Shelton, her loving niece, Johnny Mae Robinson and serval other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, herb best friend, Virenda Dottie, and her Pastor, whom she loved dearly, Edward Cook. Visitation is from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm, on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the Faith Temple Church of God, 825 Rockdale Avenue, Cincinnati (45229). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow Zion Memorial Gardens in Birmingham, Alabama.
