Harry "Boo" Strickland Jr., age 65, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2026, in Cincinnati following health complications.
Harry was born on November 29, 1959, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Harry Strickland Sr. and Mattie Manning. He was raised in Cincinnati and attended Robert A. Taft High School, where he excelled in athletics, participating in football, basketball, and track. His love for sports remained with him throughout his life.
Harry was employed by Cincinnati Drum and spent his life in the city he proudly called home. Known for his warm personality and love of family, he enjoyed watching football and basketball and was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a Baptist.
Harry was preceded in death by his father, Harry Strickland Sr.; his aunt, Callie "Sis" Coleman; his uncles, Thomas Neal Freeland and Dale Freeland; his nephew, Lerois Rufus Harris; and his cousin, Preston Adams Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Mattie Manning; his children, Nicole Strickland, Monique Brooks, Harry Strickland III, Rovae Strickland, and Roshima Smith; seventeen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his siblings, Charles Strickland and Tangela Strickland Niles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, extended family members, and dear friends.
Harry's legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
He will be laid to rest at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
