Harold "Buddy" Jones was born on January 26, 1940 to the late Prince Albert Jones and Pearl Wright Jones. Harold was proceeded in death by his daughter Sandra Chapman, sisters Carolyn Ligon and Betty Smith, nephews Tab Jones and Eric Jones, niece Doris "Taffy" Jones and Grandson Lebrandon Kelly.
Harold Albert Jones passed away at home peacefully with his wife and family by his side on October 19, 2023 from complications from Colon Cancer and other health issues. Buddy fought the "Good Fight" all the way to the end.
Harold attended Washburn elementary, Porter middle school and Taft High School. After High school Harold joined the US Army serving in the Vietnam war for two tours and receiving an honorable discharge from the US Army. Buddy was a man of integrity, honesty determination, characteristics shaped by the love of family, friends and US Army.
Harold met and married the love of his life Alfreda Bean Jones on August 10, 1973 in Cincinnati, Ohio. This union formed a blended family. The pair have been inseparable from that day forward, recently celebrating 50 years of marriage. Buddy spent his later years enjoying life and family. He took up and learned to play the game golf, which he loved and became very good at it. His nick name was "Tiger Wilderness". Buddy took pride in everything he did, even his years of doing Janitorial work buffing and waxing floors. He lived the rest of his years relaxing, smoking, listening to news and music. A very simple life.
Harold leaves to cherish his memory and to carry on his legacy his children Darryl Walker, Vanessa Booker, Brian Hill, Sharon Finnell, Richard Kelly, Robert Kelly, Yvonne Kelly, Marlene Kelly, a special niece Betty "Pumkin" Ligon, his Doggie companion Coffee Kelly, a host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great-Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at the Walker Event Center, 3939 Reading Road (Corner of Reading and Paddock), Cincinnati (45229). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm.
He will be laid to rest with his wife Alfreda Jones at Dayton National Cemetery.
