IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gregory W.
Whitman
November 16, 1970 – December 22, 2015
Gregory W. Whitman Obituary Gregory W. Whitman, Jr. (Toby) went home to the Lord on December 22, 2015 at Christ Hospital. He was 45. Toby was born on November 16, 1970, to parents Gregory Whitman, Sr. and the late Delores T. Whitman. Toby graduated from Woodward High School in 1990. He attended ITT Technical Institute in pursuit of an engineering degree. He also attended Brown Mackie College to be a pharmaceutical technician. Toby was a devoted member of New Covenant Fellowship, where he enjoyed praising and worshipping God. Toby was employed by Kelly Youth Services, where we worked as a counselor to troubled youth. For those who knew Toby, he was always a jokester and loved to have a good time. He will always be remembered for his signature laugh. He was adored by everyone and you couldn't get anywhere without hearing the words, "BIG TOBB!!!" He had a heart of gold that would warm up a room. Toby was a person who was always truthful, very outspoken, always willing to give advice, and deeply loved his children. Toby is preceded in death by his mother, Delores Whitman; grandmother, Ethel Mae Smoot; and step grandfather, Edward Smoot. Toby is survived by his wife, Leslie Glenn; children Aqeel Glenn, Robert Fegan, Arien Glenn, Ariel Whitman, and Ashanti Whitman; grandchildren, Carrie, Kei-Ari, Summer, Sky, and Arya; father, Gregory Whitman, Sr.; sisters, Demetria Barnes and Saprina Smith; brothers Germaine and Giovanni Whitman; special friend, Kim Gray and family; and a host of nieces, cousins, friends and family. Special Quote: "God prepares us for things even before they happen. Know what is being prayed, sung, or preached because you may need those very things to get you through life. He has taken permanent residence with us. He is there whether we feel Him or not. We can't have any excuse because we are no longer ourselves, we are God's!" ~D Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at the Walker- Walnut Hills Chapel, 1025 E.
