Gregory Jones was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 10, 1957 to parents, Barbara Byrd and George Heard. Gregory was raised in the Avondale / Walnut Hills areas and graduated from Withrow High School in 1976.

After graduating High school Gregory attended Cincinnati State Technical and Community College completing a trade in Construction Management. He then moved on to utilize his skills and become a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers Local 18.

Gregory dedicated over twenty years in the construction field servicing Carlisle Construction and TYS Construction companies.

Gregory was committed to his community by dedicating time to St. John AME Church where he was intensely devoted to the wellbeing of others. His sanguine delivery, vibrant personality and remarkable sense of humor was valued by many. He was known as a Trailblazer, (A Man of Influence). Gregory was a phenomenal man that has touched the hearts of countless individuals which will never be forgotten.

Gregory was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Byrd and brothers, Lorenzo Byrd Jr. and George Heard Jr.

His memories and loving spirit will forever be cherished by his father, George Heard; siblings, Annette Jones Day, Kenneth (Doranna) Byrd, Kimberly Heard and Kenneth Heard; daughters, Jaela Jones and Ciara Jones; grandchildren, Aysiara Jones-Rashid, Mauri White and Marlo White; lifetime partner, Wanda Harris whom Gregory shared over two decades with; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.

Visitation is from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Bethel Baptist Church - Alms Place, 2712 Alms Place, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 12:00 pm.
