IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gloria Jean
(Hart) Randolph
January 12, 1942 – December 6, 2024
Gloria Hart Randolph was born on January 12, 1942, to the loving union of Dorothy Pulliam Hart and James Hart. She attended Cincinnati Public Schools, where her journey of love, family, and faith began. Gloria was the proud and devoted mother of two sons and one daughter, as well as a cherished matriarch to numerous step-children, an abundance of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who she loved as her own. Family was at the very heart of who Gloria was. She was the loving glue that held generations together—an incredible mother, Mema, sister, aunt, and friend. Her support knew no limits; Gloria was a fixture in the audience for every game, recital, graduation, and performance, always beaming with pride. Her smile, presence, and encouragement were constant reminders of her unwavering love. She was especially known for her heartfelt, personalized cards, carefully chosen for every occasion, with birthdays being an extra-special celebration.
Gloria's deep faith in the Lord was the cornerstone of her life. A devoted member of Corinthian Baptist Church, she sang with joy in the Inspirational Choir and Sun-Rise Choir and served humbly as Co-Chair for Women's Day. Her dedication extended to serving on the Welcome Team, narrating church productions with the drama ministry, and volunteering tirelessly with the food pantry and other church initiatives. Gloria was a steadfast presence at every service, sitting faithfully in her spot at the center, inspiring those around her to trust in God's love and grace. Her favorite reminder to all was "Never let anyone steal your joy."
Gloria had a zest for life that radiated in everything she did. A lover of reading, bowling, and most of all, spending precious time with her family, she made every moment count. As an extraordinary bowler, Gloria was a proud member of the DJ5's Bowling Group, traveling across the country to compete in The National Negro Bowling League—an organization born out of resilience and determination when Black bowlers were excluded from the national leagues. She bowled with passion and purpose, whether on Friday nights or at tournaments with family by her side. Her love for the sport was matched only by her love for the camaraderie it brought, creating bonds that lasted a lifetime.
After 31 years of service, Gloria retired from Avon, where she held many roles, including her favorites, being a tour guide and later as a forklift driver for 18 years. Known for her beauty, inside and out, many joked that Avon's products were the secret to her timeless radiance, but those who knew her understood that it was her spirit that truly shone. Gloria delighted in sharing Avon's treasures, keeping her family moisturized, pampered, and stylish.
Gloria's dedication to her community extended far beyond her family and church. She participated faithfully in Martin Luther King Jr. walks, worked the voting polls, and encouraged everyone she met to exercise their right to vote. She was a true light in her community, a beacon of love, advocacy, and kindness.
