TO VIEW / PRINT / DOWNLOAD FUNERAL PROGRAM https://www.scribd.com/doc/294909737/Geraldine-Taylor-Memorial Geraldine Taylor, loving daughter of the late Jesse Esau Smith and Callie Pearl Smith, was born on August 23, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the seventh of eight children and attended Phillip Memorial Methodist Church with her parents as a child. Geraldine graduated Woodward High School in 1964, when she had her loving daughter, Benita Crum. Jerri, as Geraldine was often called, served many of her working years at the City of Cincinnati in various departments, including the police department, private complaint, and Income Tax, where she retired. Jerri joined New Jerusalem Baptist Church with her late husband, Larry Taylor, where she was a faithful and tithing member until her passing. Geraldine served as Director of Vacation Bible School, was an active member of the Deaconess Board, sung in the choir, Rhythmic Sounds of New J., and participated in the Walnut Hills Soup Kitchen, Christian Counseling, Sisterhood, Mission and many other ministries. Jerri enjoying singing and woke up with a song every morning. She would say "God didn't give me the voice but I'm going to sing loud anyway." –referencing Psalm 98:4. Geraldine preceded in death two brothers, Roosevelt Smith and Esau Smith, two sisters, Mary Creed and Alberta Smith and one great granddaughter, Glenara Bates. Jerri leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Benita Crum, two brothers, John (Dorothy) Smith and Eugene (Inetta) Smith, one sister, Jessie Pearl (John) Ramsey, a sister-in-law, Audrey Crump, one grandson, Glen Bates Jr., one granddaughter, Ebony Seymour, and five great grandchildren, Jyaire, J'len, Glenashia, Gionte, and Callie Pearl Bates. Jerri also leaves to cherish five goddaughters Ernestine Evans, Stephanie Oglivie, Sheala Thurmond, Felicia McFarland and Coletta Darby-Webster, and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends, including Andrea Hughes, Mildred Hope and Bertha Crosby. Visitation is from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, on , MondayJanuary 11, 2016, at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 26 W North Bend Road, Cincinnati (45216). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 7:00 pm. Interment: Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428.
