Geraldine B. (nee Blankenship) Reams, 84, a former West Virginia schoolteacher and undertaker, died May 30, 1990, at Fairfax Hospital. She had cancer.
Born October 23, 1905 in Matewan, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Sheriff George Blankenship and Georgia Chambers Blankenship. She attended school in Matewan Grade Schools and Louisburg Seminary. She attended the College of William and Mary, West Virginia University, and graduated from Marshall University. She married Allen A. Reams in November of 1928 in Matewan, West Virginia.
She and her late husband Allen A. Reams owned and operated Chambers Funeral Home in Matewan, West Virginia.
Mrs. Reams, who lived at the Virginian Retirement Community in Fairfax, Virginia.
She taught school in Matewan for 45 years and operated the Chambers Funeral Home there. She moved to the Washington area in 1981.
Her husband, Allen A. Reams, died in 1965.
Survivors include a son, Patrick A. Reams of Arlington, and two brothers, James A. and Thomas D. Blankenship, both of Perry, Fla.
Interment in Buskirk Cemetery in Burkirk, Pike County, Kentucky.
