IN LOVING MEMORY OF

George Aaron

Johnson, Jr.

May 19, 1953 – January 8, 2026

Obituary

George Aaron Johnson, Jr. was born May 19, 1953, to the union of the late George Aaron and Kathereene Brown Johnson in Cincinnati, Ohio. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Zion Baptist Church. Later in life, George joined Southern Baptist Church and continued his Christian Experience by joining the New Mission Missionary Baptist Church.

George attended Madisonville Elementary School, Lyons Junior High School, and Military School before attending Withrow High School. George joined the Marine Corps after high school where he worked on airplane engines. It is also important to note that George also knew how to climb onto a roof to clean gutters and was considered a "master exterior painter." George worked for the railroad, laid black top, and removed asbestos, all before finding his love for service and transporting others. George worked for Metro Access and then joined the transportation team at Greyhound. While at Greyhound, George's leg required amputation due to health concerns, but he kept working with the determination and drive that never wavered. He returned to work at Greyhound and retired after over 20 years of service.

Although George was retired, he NEVER stopped! He drove for Uber, Lyft, and even drove semi-trucks. George made it a significant part of his life to look after family and friends who may not have been in the best of health or even just needed help. George has been termed "a true savior," selfless to a fault, due to the support, encouragement, and care he showed for friends and family.

George was a jokester, and if you were around him, you were going to laugh. He was an amazing supporter of all. If you or your child was involved in something, playing sports, singing, dancing, cheering, playing an instrument, having a social, or a church event, HE WAS THERE. Often, those who knew him wondered how he did it all!

George did not play about those he loved; he was considered a protector, a watcher, and he stood firm on his beliefs. George was not afraid to let you know; he would tell you in the moment what he thought without hesitation. George stood on business, what he said he meant, and he was not afraid to back it up right now! George was passionate about people, and his verbal expression and actions always stood on his truth.

George had many sayings, "good says Judge Judy," "10-4," and "thaaat's right." He had a nickname for just about everyone younger than him, some people loved, but all accepted because each one knew it was genuine and a "term of endearment" because he was paying attention and it was out of love.
