IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George Rodney
Florence
April 14, 1968 – January 6, 2015
George Rodney Florence, better known s 'Butch' was born April 14, 1968. He is preceded in death by his mother Rose DuBose and his adoptive father, Robert Speed,Butch grew up in Covington, Kentucky. the oldest of three siblings. As a young man Butch believed he has a calling in life, and one night he and his Uncle Bishop stayed up all night working on a sermon that Butch has written for Watch Night. Like many people though, Butch became discourage with the Church, and its superficial constraints, and instead lived life as it came. He was a flooring master by trade, but portrayed himself as a 'jack of all trade'. willing to try his hand at anything. At an early age, Butch met and married Mary Turner and became a stepfather to Anthony, Mary's son. They added to their family with the addition of twins. Xavier and Lacey. His twins were with him until he departed this life. Butch was the infuential factor for his sister Robin to move back from Florida to Ohio, and their relationship grew stronger. He and his brother Eddie (Beep) also shared a special relationship as brothers. His son Xavier and daughter Lacey has many fond memories of their Dad, They has a special bond that only strengthened further within the last few years of his life as he underwent various aliments and sicknesses. Butch also has a great group of cousins that he could count on in any given situation and they all shared many fun family functions together. One of Butch's last statements to his Uncle Bishop was that he didn't think that God wanted to heal him. We, as believers, don't think God didn't want to heal him;we believe that God wanted Butch to be healed beside Him. We want to extend a special thank you to his Uncle Ricky for helping Butch get his earthy home more comfortable and livable during his most recent sickness when he no longer could move around. We now pray that his new comfort level has risen to the highest level that it can. He leave behind, to lovingly remember him: his twins, Xavier and Lacey: their Mother, Mary Florence;stepson Anthony. his sister Robin Speed, his brother Eddie(Beep) DuBose, two uncles:Bishop R. (Alyse) Florence and Ricky A (Faith) Florence;two aunts; Doris Johnson and Pamela Williams;one nephew Albeno Sceletz (Boo) Carmichael; another niece or nephew on the way; along with many, many close-knit wonderful cousins; a host of extended family,friends,co-workers and clients.
