George Quincy
Brown, Sr.
May 31, 1955 – September 9, 2006
George Quincy Brown Jr. was born to the union of Rev. George Q. Brown Sr and Anna E. Brown on May 31, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He accepted Christ at Golden Leaf Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Clarence Adkins and was baptized at the age of thirteen.
George graduated from Woodward High School and entered the work force. He enjoyed disc jockeying, bowling, and roller skating. His desire to serve others led him to be a volunteer for the Lincoln Heights Fire Department. As a DJ, he held several fundraisers to support the fire department. After two years George became on e of the first paid fire fighters for the Village of Lincoln Heights. He also served on their life squad.
George moved of Virginia where he was well known and liked by many in the DJ arena. He worked for Comcast Communicatons for the past seven years and attended Mt. Pelasant Baptist Church in Gainsville, Virginia.
George departed this life on September 9, 2006.
He leaves to cherish precious memories, a son, George Q. III; granddaughter, Alexis; mother, Anna; father, Rev. George Sr.; step father, Frank; five sisters, Elizabeth, Chrstine (Rocky), Brenda, Maryann (Glen), Natasha; brothers, Michael, Montez, Desmond; a host of other relatives and friends.
Service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 15, 2006, at Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Strayhorn officiating. Interment Walnut Hills Cemetery.
