Healthy, Ohio 45231 Service: Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Elizabeth Baptist Church, 7 South Garland Ave., Youngstown, Ohio Interment: Tod Homestead Cemetery , Youngstown, Ohio Gary R. Jones, age 42, passed away June 21 at his residence. Gary was born September 4, 1967 in Montreal, Canada, a son of the late Harmon €œHump€ Jones Jr. and Jean Jones. He came to the United States right after birth. Gary graduated from South High in 1985. He moved to Pittsburgh, PA after graduation and lived there for 6 years then relocated to Cincinnati, OH in 1991 where he made his home. He worked at Millennium Hotels and Sears repair center and attended New Beginning Covenant Church. Gary loved the Lord, his family and his church. Gary€™s many gifts included art, music, computer drafting, dance and spoken word. Gary was the pioneer of the South High Web page and a dance group called Master Jam. He continued dancing in the form of praise dance at his church and did many spoken word engagements throughout the United States. Gary leaves to cherish his memory, his mother; five sisters, Angela Jones of Cincinnati, OH, Dalila Butler of Oakland, CA, Janis, Paris and Mercedes Jones of Youngstown; two nieces, Kera Jones and Nia Jones of Youngstown; and three nephews, Braylin and Stephen Jones of Youngstown and Brandon Jones of Cincinnati, OH. He also leaves a host of cousins, aunts and uncles in Atlanta GA, Cincinnati, OH and Montreal, Canada and his best friends TLee Chism, Rick White and Jere Beulah of Youngstown. Gary is preceded in death by his father, his grandparents Harmon Jones Sr. and Nobie Jones and Marjorie Thompson, his Aunts, Bettye Jones, Alice Norville and Juanita McKenzie, and his Uncles Alec Thompson and Olin C. McKenzie. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy on Tuesday, June 29 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral service 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 2 at Elizabeth Baptist Church, 7 S. Garland Ave., Youngstown. Interment will follow at Tod Homestead Cemetery in Youngstown. Visitation 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., Thursday, July 1 at the Elizabeth Baptist Church. Arrangements handled by Walker Funeral Home in Cincinnati, OH & Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home in Youngstown, OH.
