Gale Scales Tompkins, daughter of the late Ardell and Catherine Scales and was born on June 10, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Gale graduated from Woodward High School in 1974 and received two associates' degrees from National College.

Gale worked for the City of Cincinnati for many years.

Gale leaves to cherish her memory five sons, Ardell, Odell, Verdell, Travis, and Kelvin;  grandchildren, Nina, Shardell, AJ, King and Spirit (Ardell) Odell Jr. (Odell), Michael, Jessie, Delorian, Brandon, and Avante (Verdell), Mekhi, Alijah and Tiegan (Travis); her former husband, Melvin Tompkins; twin brother, Dale Scales; and sister Constance Ruff (Michael).  Gale was preceded in death by her sister Angela Franklin.  She was dearly loved and will be missed by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and partner Charles Brown.

Visitation is from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, on  Saturday, February 27, 2021, at the Bethel Baptist Church, 2712 Alms Place, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 12:00 pm. Everyone attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing.

In keeping with the Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions masks are required in order to enter the service and social distancing must be practiced.  Please be prepared to comply for the safety of all.
