Frieda May Curtis, age 56, passed away June 11, 2013. Frieda May Brooks Ferguson Curtis was born in Cincinnati, August 31, 1956 to Richard Edward Brooks and Helen Ameilia Booker Brooks at the Cincinnati General Hospital. She was the youngest girl of twelve siblings. However, she was born seconds before her twin Regina. She made her family proud when she graduated from high school. One of her many accomplishments was competing in a swimming competition where she won first place in free style, while Regina won first place in a butterfly stroke. Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting and making many crafts. She had a great work ethic and worked many years as a CNA. After retirement she worked many years at a local department store. Early in her life, Frieda married James Ferguson. Then later in life she met and married Thomas Curtis and he became the love of her life. He was very devoted to her and they were very compatible. Frieda joined St. Paul Temple of Truth and was saved under Rev. Lorraine Nelson. She was baptized, filled with the Holy Ghost and , spoke in tongues. She had a very loving and sweet spirit. She was the type of person who made friends with everyone. If you came in contact with her, you couldn't help but laugh and enjoy yourself around her. When you saw her she would always have a beautiful smile on her face. Yes, she was very silly and spoke her mind about everything. She loved taking care of others and enjoyed working with others. She would open her arms and doors for anyone who needed her help. Frieda was very passionate about her family and would do anything she could for them. She was preceded i ndeath by her parents, one brother, Richard Brooks and one sister Carolyn Brooks Amison. Frieda ceased breathing and died on June 11, 2013 after a struggle with asthma. She leaves her precious memories to be cherished by: her husband, Thomas Curits; children, Charlene Brooks (Matthew Davis), Kittie Brooks, Sherry Ferguson (Dwight Surrell), Tallisha Ferguson (LLoyd Christon), James Ferguson (Robin Curts) & Daniel Ferguson; brothers, Fountain, Paul, Samuel & James Brooks; sisters, Vonceil , Brown Juliatt, Donna Dixon, Angela Pearson, Priscilla Glover & Regina Blunt, 33 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives & friends. Funeral Services 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 21 at James Temple Church of God In Christ, 1116 Lincoln Avenue (Corner of Lincoln and Park Avenue) in Walnut Hills, Cincinnati, Ohio (45206) with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until hour of service.
