Freddie Ruth Freeman was born on August 17, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Hulon Kimmons and Hazel Kimmons. She peacefully departed this life on May 20, 2026.
A graduate of Central/Courter Technical High School, Freddie later pursued studies in Early Childhood Development at the University of Cincinnati. She dedicated her life to caring for children through her work at Loving Arms Daycare, Saint Agnes School, and the Community Action Agency Head Start Program, where she retired. Known to many as “Miss Freddie” and affectionately called “Aunt Freddie” by family and friends, she was admired for her grace, humility, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for others. Through her patience, guidance, compassion, and kindness, she touched the lives of countless children and families throughout the community.
Born into the Catholic faith and later embracing the Baptist faith, Freddie lived a life rooted in love, compassion, and devotion to family.Freddie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, shopping, celebrating special occasions, and creating lasting memories with those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hulon Kimmons and Hazel Kimmons, and her late husband, Harry Lee Freeman.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Michelle Reynolds; her sister, Sue Ruben; Johnny Ruben; her niece, Shawnda Kimmons; and a host of family members, friends, former students, colleagues, and the many children whose lives she touched.
Celebration of Life will be Saturday, June 20, 2026, 6:00 PM at Lake View Ridge, 7210 Pippin Road. Cincinnati, Ohio 45239.
