IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frazier Darnell
Houston
June 17, 1961 – February 19, 2025
Frazier D. Houston was born on Saturday, June 17, 1961, to the union of Will Frazier Tripp and Gene Kelly Tripp. He entered into eternal glory on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, while resting at home surrounded by his loving wife as she prayed and his devoted son as he held him close, speaking life and comfort during his transition. What was so phenomenal about Darnell's transition; though it seems untimely in the natural, it was DIVINELY timed in the spirit, because he saw his mother moments before, as tears streamed down his face, he surrendered.
Frazier, lovingly known to his family as Darnell, Uncle D, Daddy and "Pop-Pop" was the third- born child of five natural children and two foster children; Darnell was certainly the middle child through and through and had the behavior to back it up!
Frazier was a graduate of Cincinnati Public Schools; Hughes High School class of 1980-GO BIG RED!!!! After graduation, Frazier worked at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Downtown Cincinnati and he owned a shoeshine stand where he employed an elderly black man to shine shoes and interact with the Hotel guests. It grew in popularity quickly! Frazier remained an employee there until the end of the COVID pandemic. He simultaneously worked at Federal Express. In 1999 Frazier attended Napier Truck Driving School where he graduated top of his class and began his professional driving career at Pitt Ohio Express and he remained a stellar employee for 25 years until his death. "Fraz" as his Co-Workers lovingly referred to him, received many awards ranging from perfect attendance, safe driving and others. Pitt Ohio honored him with being a wonderful employee by placing his name on his truck! And if you ever saw him driving in the city, we would say, "Are you sure you saw Frazier?!! Because when he drove, he drove low, with that ball cap down over his eyes! He had to style and profile while working hard to provide for his family.
When Frazier was not at work, he would watch all matter of car shows- religiously. He loved to laugh, watch his favorite comedy shows and to cook. Have you not seen? Have you not heard about Uncle D's famous chili? You betta ask somebody (or ask your mama!!) Because it was absolutely AMAZING! When Frazier wasn't cooking, grilling, or watching his shows, he listened to music, sat on the porch and loved to visit and connect with family! When you met Frazier, you met an immediate friend, never a stranger.
Frazier Darnell Houston was preceded in death by his mother Gene Kelly Tripp; his father Will Frazier Tripp; his son Dale Little Sr., his daughter Darneisha Little, his brother Daryl Tripp, and his sister, Pamela (Poopie) Houston. He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years Norine Y.
