A Tribute To Frazier Ellis

Deacon Frazier Ellis was born on December 29, 1938, to the late T.J. and Timothy Mae Ellis in Wetumpka, Alabama. He was one of nine children and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1960.
At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He was a very positive and optimistic prayer warrior and loved the Word of God. Frazier joined Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, Lincoln Heights, Ohio in 1963 under the leadership of Reverend James W. Jones. Mr. Ellis served many roles at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church including the deacon board, pulpit committee, and singing with the Sons of Zion for over 50 years. Together the Sons of Zion received three Grammy Award and raised thousands of dollars to help facilitate many students furthering their education. He was united in marriage to Wilma Jean Ellis for 49 years until her passing in 2015 and they both served faithfully in the church together. He joined Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Cincinnati, Ohio on September 29, 2019, under the leadership of Pastor Kendall A. Logan where he served faithfully until his passing.
He was a cement finisher known for his professionalism and expertise in construction masonry work and training younger construction workers. He helped build many of the most important buildings and structures in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and other surrounding states for more than 30 years until his retirement in 2000. He started Ellis Taxicab in 1981 later his brothers Tommy and Bobby joined him.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons: Reginald Bernard Ellis (Kimberly) of Columbus, Ohio; Reginald (Eugene) Aaron (Natalie) of Cincinnati, Ohio; two stepchildren: Carol Denise White (Rudy) and Robert H. Stone of Cincinnati, Ohio; four brothers: T.J. Jr. (the late Addie Lee) of Gadsden, Alabama; the late Carey (Rubena) of Wetumpka, Alabama; Bobby (Ruth) of Cincinnati, Ohio; the late Tommy (Pat) of Cincinnati, Ohio; four sisters: Earie Wallace, the late Doris Carter-Oskoei (Essie), the late Libby Ellis, and Willie Neal Cook of East Chicago, Indiana; uncles and aunts all preceded him in death, ten grandchildren one preceded him in death and seventeen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, Ms. Mary Lang a close friend for four years, and other friends.
Deacon Frazier Ellis enjoyed reading, spending time with his family, playing with Tae his loyal beloved dog, watching football, and was the number one fan of the Cincinnati Reds. Deacon Ellis was known for his positive attitude, style, class, and for being a kind-hearted man and was especially loved by his children, nieces and nephews and he loved them all dearly.
His motto: "If you don't control your destiny, someone else will."
His wise saying: "An empty wagon makes a lot of noise."
Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Walker Funeral Home, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at Landmark Memorial Gardens, 1600 Glendale Milford Road , Cincinnati, Ohio 45215.
