A Time to Be Born
Frank Alexander Hogan was born on June 22, 1942, to the late Annie Bell Robinson and Angus Alexander Hogan. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his son, Frankie Alexander Hogan Jr.
A Time to Love
Frank was joined in holy matrimony to Virginia Ann Brandon. To this union, one child was born, Dwayne Edward Hogan. Frank also had two other children, Lorna Hogan and Frank Alexander Hogan Jr.
A Time to Worship
Frank A. Hogan Sr. gave his life to Christ many years ago and recently renewed his faith. He was baptized on August 31, 2024, at the Roman Catholic Church by Christian Cone-Lombarte and was sponsored by Jim Luers.
A Time to Learn and Serve
Frank (also known as “Frankie”) was a native of the Manassas, Virginia, public school system. Frank later moved from Manassas, Virginia, to New York City. He, Virginia (also known as “Gince”), and Dwayne lived in the Bronx for over fifty years.
Frank held multiple jobs over the years, including serving as the superintendent of the building where he resided. In the early 1970s, Frank was hired by the Metro-North Railroad system as a crane operator. He worked there for 35 years before retiring. Frank was recognized for his 35 years of continued service from December 4, 1973, to January 31, 2008.
A Time to Enjoy Life
Frank loved his wife until death, and his main purpose in life was taking care of his family. Frank loved to walk and enjoy the sights. He also loved sports, watching Western movies, and talking on the phone. He called everybody.
A Time to Remember
Frank’s loving memories will be cherished by his wife, Virginia (also known as “Gince”), and his children, Dwayne Hogan (Becky), Lorna Hogan, and Frankie Jr.
He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Dwayne, Edward Hogan Jr. (Jonee), April Briggs Smith (Glen), Donte, Tiana, Trevon, Anthony, and Jacob; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He also leaves his siblings: Miles (also known as “Chubby”) (Diana), Larry (also known as “Dick”) (Carolyn), Ann (Lawrence, also known as “Lumply”), Grace (Thomas), Edwina (also known as “Sis”) (John), and Andre (Gloria).
Frank also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
A Time to Rest
On Monday, February 16, 2026, God sent angels down to usher Frank into his eternal home. Frank was surrounded by his wife and family at Brookdale Senior Living Hospice Care.
Our beloved Frank was a son, husband, brother, uncle, and friend to many when he received his wings.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Walker Event Center, 3939 Reading Road (Corner of Reading and Paddock), Cincinnati (45229). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
He will be laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
