IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frances Carolyn
Williams-Stanford
July 30, 1945 – September 18, 2021
On September 17,2021 Frances Carolyn Williams-Stanford officially received her wings at the age of 76 years old in her hometown of Cincinnati Ohio. Originally born in Mobile Alabama, July 30,1945 to her mother the late Sally Mae George and father Sam Pastor. Frances moved to the rural town of Camden Alabama as a young child where she was raised until relocating to Cincinnati in 1965.
Frances confessed her love for Jesus Christ. She joined membership at New Jerusalem Baptist church shortly after arriving in Cincinnati, Ohio under the leadership of Pastor Damon Lynch, Jr. where she loved regularly attending church services until falling ill.
The oldest of six children she learned at a very early age how to care for others, and this skill set would carry her through her entire life. Frances was never formally educated, born at a time in the south where it was common for the eldest daughter to assume domestic responsibilities to help the family, she learned to cook, and boy could she cook. Her fried chicken, cornbread, dressing, collard greens, yams, roast, smothered pork chops…(I could go on but you get the point) were legendary! Frances loved everyone to LIFE with her food! Always outspoken and full of advice Frances was known to stir the pot (both figuratively and literally). She loved having conversations and she was a very effective listener which made her easy to talk to. Her phone would ring off the hook, and she always answered it! Besides, cooking and "sharing stories", Frances loved to dance! She "broke it down" and "shook her butt" (her words) until the very end. To know her was to LOVE her!
Frances was the epitome of a strong black woman. Befitting of the title of 'Ma" and "Grandma" to the younger folks that met her, she was always willing to lend a helping hand, even if that meant enlisting the help of someone else to do it (and in most cases it did). She wanted for all of us to help one another in any capacity that we were needed. If called upon she would always help you "figure it out". Frances loved deeply and she will truly be missed!
Frances is reunited in life with her parents Sally Mae George and Sam Pastor, her loved husband and partner in crime Richard William Stanford, ex husband Robert Williams, her "baby" Robert Williams Jr. and her niece Tracey Mitchell.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her furry baby Molly, her two daughters Peggy Boseman and Valerie Williams: Step Children Paula, Shelly, Rhonda, Dewayne, Darrell, and Terry Stanford: Son/Nephew Robert "Nard" George :Grandchildren Shedrica, Taniah, Renee, Ryan, Steven Wayne, Stephen, Terrance: Great Grandchildren Germani, Harvest, Heavest, Carlitto, Stephen Jr., Matthew, Leila, Nylah, Iceland, and Kaliah: and one Great Great Grandbaby Ava: two sisters Josephine Williams of Hartford Connecticut, Mary Perryman of Camden Alabama, three brothers Robert George Sr. and AB George Jr. both of Camden Alabama, and Joseph George of Hartford Connecticut,: and one Aunt Mabel Grimes, as well as a host of loved family members and friends.
