Celebrating Her Spirit

Frances Adele Gray

Welcome to the celebration and homegoing of our mother Frances Adele Gray. She was born December 3, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Odell Rollinson & Evelyn Wheeler. On Thursday, August 11, 2022, she peacefully took her last breath.

Many family and friends knew her as Adele. She spent her childhood looking up to her big sister Airleen Harris (deceased). She always offered her hand out to help in more than one way. Adele had a spirit of tenacity that drove her to excel personally and professionally.

Frances graduated from Withrow High School in 1960. She went to nursing school and received her License as a Practical Nurse. Frances was employed over 10 years at Jewish Hospital and received an honorable award for her tenure and loyalty. She served over 20 years with the University of Cincinnati Hospital. Employed as a nurse and unit clerk, she was devoted and gave so much of herself with care and compassion.

She accepted Christ at a young age and served the church in various ministries. Frances tenderly gave of her time and talent to serve and support the advancement of God's Kingdom. She served on the Deaconess board since 1995. Additionally as a member of the Philippian Missionary Baptist Church , she joined the Adult Choir, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and diligently prepared communion.

Frances' smile would light up a room. She always gave more than she had to give. Family was always close to her heart. She leaves to cherish her memories: her children: Monique Rollinson, April Williams, Charla (James) Gray-Green, Treesa Gray, Dale (Mindy) Thomas, Marquis Gray, Jason Gray, Donovan Gray, Christopher Gray, Cassandra Gray, nine grandchildren: Marquetta Ware, Martell Williams, Carrie (DeLeon) Cannedy, Johnny Rudolph, Anthony Jackson Jr., Lewis McFadgen, Jasmine Rollinson, Imani Rollinson, and Blake Green, one very special nephew Jonathan K. Harris, more than ten great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
