Obituary

Floyd Dowdell

Floyd Dowdell, son of the late Melba and Bishop Dowdell was born on October 9, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 4, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Floyd was preceded in death by his brother, Curly and sister, Catherine.

Floyd was a product of the Cincinnati Public School System and was a graduate of Taft High School.  He attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York City, New York.  He was a certificate Life Management and Computer Programmer.

Floyd enlised in the United States Navy in 1965 and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1968.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his borther, Donnie Dowdell; sisters, Melba, Bonnie, Sandra Dowdell, and Sheila Dowdell Carter; step-son, Gerald Brown, and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 12, 2010, at the Walker Event Center (formerly Donald and Stewart Funeral Home), 3939  Reading Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229.  The Rev. Bernie Anderson, Officiating.
