Rev. Fletcher McFarland, Jr., went into eternal rest on June 9, 2017. He was born February 24, 1929 in Lagrange, Georgia, to Fletcher and Laura McFarland. His parents passed away, when he was young and his grandparents raised him. He relocated to Cleveland, Ohio when he was age eight with only a sixth grade education. Rev. Fletcher McFarland pursued a career and joined the U.S. Army, where he served from 1951 to 1953 as a Military Police in the Korean War receiving an Honorable Discharge. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his children, Barbara, Bud, Fred, Terry, Trina and Marcus McFarland and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his, parents, grandparents, wife Alberta McFarland and children, Kym, Loretta McFarland. He will be greatly missed. Sleep Fletcher until the Lords great return. You where loved very much. Visitation is from 9:30 am until 10:30 am, on Friday, June 23, 2017, at the Walker Funeral Chapel 7272 Hamilton Avenue , Mt. Healthy (45231). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428.
