Deyampert
January 25, 1942 – January 21, 2016
Fletcher J. Deyampert was born in Selma, Alabama on January 25, 1942, to Velma Jackson and Howard King who both proceeded him in death. His sister Jessie Jones ,brother Arthur Fox and grandson Trennon Brown also proceeded him in death. Fletcher graduated from R.B.Hudson High School in 1960 and kept in close contact with his classmates through the years. He joined the United States Army in 1962 and was honorably discharged in 1964 after serving in Korea as a Radar Crewman ranked E5 Buck Sargent. He worked at Darling Company, General Motors, Village of Woodlawn and Goodwill Industries. He loved spending time with family and friends more than anything. His laugh was contagious and filled a room. Fletcher was entertaining and known for his outrageous jokes and catch phrases. You would truly believe he missed his calling as a comedian. Barbequing and sitting outside in the summer seeing who he knew going up and down Grove Road was also something he enjoyed. He could also be found watching old westerns and judge shows on a regular basis. He married Willie Mae Kemp in Cincinnati in 1968. This uion was blessed with two sons. Fletcher and Terri were together 39 years and were blessed with two daughters. Fletcher leaves to cherish his memory; devoted wife Terri that held his hand till the end, two daughters Valinda (Mike) and Marquita (Tim); two sons Frederick and Derrick; five grandchildren Darrius, Jeremy, Dyeland, Maryana and Braylon, one greatgrand son Mesiah; goddaughter Alisha Dunn; one brother Eddie (Estella ) Deyampert of Virginia; two sisters Eva Fambrough and Classie Lovett, Fox family siblings; three sister in laws Mattie Fox ; Audrey Taylor , Marguerite Westbrook; one brother in law Eugene (Inez) Appling and daughter in law Angie Deyampert all of Ohio: and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Fletcher also had a special friend Betty Goodwin and her two sons Henry and Tyrone. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at the Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3655 Harvey Avenue, Cincinnati (45229). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Gardens, 11825 Pippin Road, Colerain Township, Ohio 45231.
