Obituary

Evina Dismukes Ball was born February 18, 1969, in Cincinnati Ohio to the late Edward and Nena Ball. On August 6, 2025, she departed this earthly life to begin a new life of eternal peace, love, and joy with her heavenly father.

Evina graduated from Hughes High School in 1987 after graduating she became employed with Cincinnati Public School where she gave 30 years.

Today, I stand before you to honor someone who was more than just my sister—she was my best friend, my protector, and everything in between. My sister was a breath of fresh air, someone who always knew how to make everyone around her smile and laugh. When she walked into a room, you could feel the energy shift—because you knew, without a doubt, that you were about to have a great time.

She loved karaoke, and there was never a dull moment when she was around. She didn't just sing for fun; she sang with heart, filling every space with her infectious spirit. My sister was someone who could light up any room with just her presence. And when it came to her style, she was always clean and sharping out with confidence and grace.

Above all, she was a wonderful mother. Her son was everything to her, and she made sure he always knew he was loved and cared for. Her love for her family was undeniable—she adored her brother-in-law, her nephews, and her niece, and the bond we shared was unbreakable. She always had my back, and I always had hers. We didn't play when it came to each other; we were each other's strength.

I'm going to miss hearing her voice on the phone, seeing her radiant smile, and hearing that contagious laugh. But I take comfort in knowing she's in a better place now. Please tell Mommy and Grandma I said hi and that I miss them, too. Now, I have three angels watching over me.

This is not goodbye, though—this is just a "see you later." I will carry you in my heart every single day, and I know you'll be with me in spirit, guiding me as you always have.

Rest easy, sis. I love you always.

She proceeded in death by her parents Edward and Nena Ball, grandparents Dave and Sarah Ball.

To carry her memories forward she leaves her son Jalen Thomas, Sister Africa Whitfield (Frederick), Nephews Brandon Ball, Bryan Miles, Nasir Stanford Niece Shariya Ball and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
