Everlene Fields was born on September 16, 1942, in Clayton, Alabama, and she passed away on June 21, 2025. Known for her quick wit, delicious cooking, and loving nature, Everlene cherished spending time with family and friends. She was the beloved daughter of Armillar and Leroy Harris.
After graduating as the salutatorian from Lincoln Heights High School, Everlene became the first African American hired at Continental Can Plastics. In 1966, she married Wayne Fields, and they were blessed with one son, Sean.
Everlene retired from Continental Can after 39 years of dedicated service. Following her retirement, she enjoyed shopping, visiting her sisters, watching Westerns and movies with her late husband, and having long conversations with her son.
A woman of integrity, kindness, and generosity, Everlene made a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. She was a devoted wife, a loving and supportive mother, and a cherished sister. She will be greatly missed.
Everlene was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother, Carl Harris (Yvonne).
She is mourned by her loving son, Sean (Connie); her dear brother, Jerome (Sheila); her sister, Josephine; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family members and friends who held her dear.
Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Mt. Healthy, 7272 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy (45231). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
Interment will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park & Mausoleum, 11825 Pippin Road, Colerain Township, Ohio 45231.
