Evelyn (Turner) Stevens was born on July 10, 1931 in Jacksonville, Florida to Broshes Turner and Bernice Keys. She passed away December 18, 2013. Evelyn married Kelsey Stevens in 1948 and gave birth to nine children. Mama is the oldest of seven siblings. She loved to collect cookbooks and try out new recipes. She enjoyed church and hearing the gospel truth. Mama loved living right and didn't mind telling you if you were not right. Mama often spoke of her love and concern for her brothers and sisters and often reminded her children and grandchildren to protect and love one another, especially the youngest child. Mama has prayed ahead for the Holy Spirit to intercede in the lives of her brothers, Charles Turner and David Tauver; her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her parents; siblings, Irene Fulton, Leon Turner, Leroy Turner, Edward Turner; her husband, Kelsey Stevens; sons, Nathaniel Stevens and Kelsey Stevens preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Mary Pointer and Bernice Curtis; brothers, Charles Keys of Detroit, MI and David Tauver of Jacksonville, FL; sons, George Stevens; Broshes Stevens, Thomas Stevens, David Stevens, Daniel Stevens; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mama was a member of John 3:3 New Birth Ministries of Cincinnati, Ohio under the spiritual covering of her bishops and Pastors A. L. & Diana Hatcher, whom she loved and adored. God has received his daughter unto himself.
