Eula Mae Gamble Steele, lovingly known as "Boot", was born on January 15, 1926, in Catherine, Alabama, in Wilcox County, to the late Leila and Frank Gamble, Sr. She confessed a hope in christ at an early age, and was baptised in the Alabama River, a member of The St. Michael Baptist Church. Eula married Manuel Steele in 1944. They were Sharecroppers until moving to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1958. After a time she united with The First New Shiloh Baptist Church, under Pastor Michael Mangham. She served as usher, also a Mother on the Mothers Board. Eula was a very meek and humble person. She was quiet, but loved to laugh and joke. She was a great card player and Dominos player. In addition to her parents, Eula was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel, and six of her thirteen children. Eula leaves to remember her passing from this life into eternity, seven children, Corine R. Wickersham, Doris E. Taylor, Eula M.Redd, Melvin (Karen) Steele, Detra Steele, Terry Lee (Denise) Steele, and Juanita Steele; 23 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; daughter-n-law, Monika Steele; sister, Daisy Kirksey; brother, Mack (Elizabeth) Olds, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!!! Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, July 7, 2017, at the First New Shiloh Baptist Church, 710 South Fred Shuttlesworth Circle, Cincinnati (45229). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
